- Fill out, print, and sign an Application to Vote by Mail. If you don't have a printer, go to the nearest FedEx shop to print the application and stamps.

- Affix a stamp to the envelope. As of summer 2020, you can print stamps for free at stamps.com, but you may want to remember cancel your free trial to avoid being charged later if you use this option.
- Send your application by mail. It must be received by 11 days before Election Day. It must be received by Friday, October 23 for the most important election, so it's recommended to mail it by Monday, October 12, 2020.
- When you receive your ballot, complete it, and mail it back.
The total poll tax for the above is simply the cost of your stamps and printouts. It may still be better than waiting in long lines at the polls, especially while it is still possible to get infected by COVID-19 when voting in person in close proximity to other humans.
